Salem-Keizer staff will be notified about the future of their job early in the morning on May 17. They received further clarification about these notifications in an email from Mr. John Beight, the executive director of human resources for the Salem-Keizer School District after 5 pm on Wednesday.

On May 17, staff across Salem-Keizer will receive an email informing them about the future of their employment with the district. A majority of staff will be notified that they will be seeing minimal or no change, while others will be informed that they will be reassigned or laid off.

The district sent an email out to staff on May 15 letting them know that they will be getting another email on May 17 to update them on the state of their employment. All emails are to be sent out before 7 a.m. Many staff members have told the district they prefer this method of communication for its efficiency. Supervisors will be offering a meeting to staff who have received any kind of change to answer any questions that they may have.

Students are not to come to school on Friday while staff are going to be having a regular work day. Although, staff can work from home if they request the ability to do so from their supervisor. Salem-Keizer stated that their primary goal for May 17 is for staff to receive notification and provide each other support.
