Senior Banquet

Senior Banquet will be hosted at Mission Mill on Wednesday May 25th at 6:00pm.

6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Location: Mission Mill 1313 Mill St SE, Salem, OR

Tickets: $20.00 and must be purchased by May 20th .
200 meals will be provided by Hawaiian Time along with an evening of Senior Superlatives,
music, and Senior speakers.

Yearbook Distribution

The 2022 yearbook will be available to pick up May 25th and 26th in the Cafeteria. Students who
have pre-purchased their yearbook will need to present their student ID and sign for their pre-
purchased yearbook.
Students who have not yet bought a yearbook can pay online (see directions below). The
yearbook is $45.
If you are not able to make it on May 25th and 26th , feel free to swing by room 133 before school,
during lunch or after school to pick your yearbook up.

And yes! There was a 2021 yearbook made during the pandemic when students learned from
home. It is Zoom themed and has student submitted selfies. It’s a great book and plenty are
still available for purchase for $45. You can order this online as well.

Username: Student ID number (found on student’s ASB/ID card or in ParentVue)
Password:  Student last name (case sensitive – as it appears in ParentVue)
Once you log in:
- select YEARBOOK
- select Prior Year YEARBOOK 2020-21 ($45) and/or Current Year YEARBOOK
2021-22 ($45)
- click on the blue BUY button, then go to your cart and pay.

Senior Awards Night

Class of 2022 Senior Awards will take place at 6pm on Tuesday May 31.

Time: 6:00pm - 7:30pm

Location: Auditorium

The Senior Recognition Night will be held to recognize recipients. Graduates who are being
recognized for awards will be notified before the event, and invitations will be sent home to
parents. All graduates receiving invitations are encouraged to attend. Students, please dress in
nice apparel, as you will be asked to come up on stage. Families, we welcome you to come
and help us celebrate the accomplishments of your graduate.

Preparing for Graduation

- If in doubt, talk to your counselor! Students not meeting diploma requirements will not
be allowed to walk or participate in graduation ceremonies.
- Clear your fees, fines and obligations by Tuesday, June 7th by 11:00 AM! Students with
outstanding bills will not be allowed to walk at graduation.
- When graduates walk across the stage, they will receive a diploma case only. Diplomas
will be available for pick up June 14th , 15th and 16th from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A table will
be set up outside the Registrar’s Office over by the Attendance Office. If someone
besides the graduate needs to pick the diploma up, please make those arrangements
with the school prior to coming in. If you are not able to pick up your diploma on these
days, you will need to pick it up from the registrar during office hours.
- If you need an ASL (American Sign Language) Translator for the commencement
exercises, please call the school ASAP at 503-399-3233.

Parade of Honor

Students will have a chance to head back to their elementary school for the Parade of Honor on Wednesday June 1.

8:30am- 10:05am

8:30—Arrive at McNary (those needing transportation or meeting to walk to Keizer or
Cummings). Students driving themselves or walking from their home do not need te come to
McNary first.

8:45—Walk or load vans
9:00—Arrive at elementary school, check in at designated area
9:15—Parade starts
9:45—Parade ends
9:45—Walk or load vans
10:00—Arrive at McNary
10:05—Back to class
Parking is limited at the elementary schools. You may need to park off campus.

Ticket Distribution

June 6th, 7th & 9th 11:35am - 12:10pm

June 8th 11:55am - 12:30pm

Counselors will be handing out graduation tickets in front of the counseling office on these days.
Each graduate will be given 10 tickets. If you need more than 10 tickets, you will need to check
with other graduates who are walking the same time you are to see if they have any available.
If you have already graduated, or are attending EDGE or CTEC, please swing by the school
during one of the lunch times to pick yours up.

Chromebook / Textbook / Library Book Turn in

Graduates turn in your Chromebooks/chargers/textbooks/library books to the Library. If you are
an early grad, please turn these items into the Library ASAP.

Senior Breakfast

Time: 7:30am - 8:30am

Location: Cafeteria

Enjoy a wonderful breakfast served to you by the staff at McNary High School. The breakfast is at no cost to you. Please come and enjoy this time to eat with other graduates and mingle with the McNary staff. We will need all graduates to exit the property promptly at 8:30 so we can get ready for the school day.

Class of 2022 Commencement

McNary Class of 2022 Commencement will take place on Friday, June 10 on the McNary Football Field.

There will be four sessions at 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, & 8pm.

Each session will have 116 students.

Sign-ups for which session students want to attend will open on Monday May 23rd at 8:00pm. - Closes June 3rd at 8:00pm

The link will be posted on the website and on social media. Students will have until 8pm on Friday June 3 to sign up for their chosen commencement session.

Each student will receive 10 tickets to their session. Tickets are only valid for the session listed on the ticket.

- We are expecting ceremonies to be 60-90 minutes in length.

- Capital Community Media (formerly CCTV) is televising all Salem-Keizer high school
graduation ceremonies live on Comcast, and live streaming on their website. DVD’s,
Blu-rays and digital downloads are also available for purchase. For more information,

- No high heels are allowed on the turf field.

- Graduates should arrive 60 minutes before their allotted time slot. Please don’t be late;
since we will not be practicing, you will need to be there to hear directions and sign up
for your place in line. Please go to the Varsity Baseball Field to check in. You will be
staged on the JV Baseball field where you will be given directions and lined up. Your
name will then be recorded in the order you are standing so that the correct name is
read when you cross the stage.

- People attending (ticket holders) need to arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled start
time. We cannot allow people into the stadium until the previous group has exited.

- PARKING IS LIMITED! Please carpool if possible.

- Please stay in the stands and in your seats during the ceremony. People cannot see if
others are standing. Only the graduates can be on the field.

- When the ceremony concludes, please quickly follow the directions to exit. We can’t
bring the next group in until we have cleared the stadium and parking lot.
Thank you for your help as we honor our graduates for all of the work they have done to reach
this milestone. We look forward to seeing everyone on June 10th!

Post Graduation

o Save your work with Google Takeout.
o Graduates, you’ve worked hard to get to graduation and much of that work is
housed in your Google Apps account. If you’d like to take your work with you,
Google Takeout is a great way to do this! Google Takeout allows you to keep
data from the products you use, like your email, calendar and photos. In a few
easy steps, create an archive to download and keep for your records or transfer
the date into another Google account. Students should download and move files
from the accounts before access is disabled.
o Graduating students will have access to their Salem-Keizer Public Schools
Google accounts until September 30th . This process may take several days if
there are many large files. Please plan accordingly.

- If you borrowed a cap and gown from McNary, please return it to Kim Ginther in the
Attendance Office. You will not be able to pick up your diploma until you return the cap
and gown you borrowed.
- A digital copy of the Commencement Program will be available on our school this page

LifeTouch will take pictures of every graduate with their diplomas.

o Visit Lifetouch. Photos will be online 2-6 weeks after the ceremony
o Sign up and receive notifications when your photos are available
o Order your graduation pictures online
o Complimentary proofs will be mailed to graduates
o No obligation to purchase
