The Salem Sports and Breakfast Club Les Schwab Athlete of the Week, from McNary Girls Soccer, is Tessa Fisher. Tessa, a junior, is a captain and midfielder for the Celts. Against Westview of the Metro League, McNary fell to a 4-0 deficit. However, Tessa calmly helped rally her team to a 1-1 second half, scoring the lone goal on a penalty kick. Against Sandy HS Tessa scored the first goal of the game early on, but Sandy came back to tie it. In the second half Tessa again made a PK to help McNary go on to a 3-1 win. That's three of McNary's first four goals on the season for Tessa and the 3-1 Celts. Congratulations Tessa from the Salem Sports and Breakfast Club!

Currently, McNary Athletics offers all 21 OSAA sponsored sports and routinely represents statewide academic honors. Go Celts!
Q: When the student-athletes get sent letters to prospect camps if they can forward them to home address during the summer?
A: District mail is very inconsistent during the summer. We will make every effort deliver mail to students during the summer.
Q: Why are we not having a Frosh football jamboree?
A: Typically, with late registrations, we do not have enough freshmen with nine days of practice to be eligible to participate.
Q: Will Boosters be offering booster packs (season passes, concession gift cards, NFHS subscriptions, McNary swag, etc.) to families this year?
A: Yes. Information from boosters is coming soon.
Q: We were directed here in lieu of a (freshman) football specific meeting, yet no definition has been given. Where is the appropriate way to receive this info?
A: Please reach out to Coach Atwood (firstname.lastname@example.org) for specific questions not covered in the fall parent meeting.
Q: When will we find out about practice schedules for cross country?
A: Please connect with Coach Buffoni (email@example.com).
Q: Are masks required for spectators at outdoor games?
A: Not currently (as of 8/20/2021).
Q: The NFHS filming was terrible at times, missing key plays. Would there be a way to allow a person to staff the cameras?
A: NFHS broadcast should improve this year with system upgrades and a stable internet connection. At this time, broadcasting games “in house” is not sustainable.
Q: How can we get involved with the athletic booster club?
A: Please contact the Booster President, Michelle Paton (firstname.lastname@example.org), for more information.
