Mr. Miguel Camarena-Corzo is coaching the Boys Varsity Soccer Team at McNary.

“Our goal is to be in the top 5 teams in the state, win the conference and win the state championship,” Camarena-Corzo said.

“This season my boys varsity soccer team has a perfect record. Eight wins, zero losses, zero ties in just eight games. Offensively we have scored so far 37 goals and just allowed six. We have a great balance team,”Camarena-Corzo said.

The team works on tactical, technical, finishing on goal, defending, zonal workout, crosses, passing, and possession of the ball during practices.

Hudson Brunk, a senior at McNary, says the team needs to maintain their level of play instead of playing at the level of the other team.

“In most of our games we score first. If the game ends up close, The opponent scores next, but if we score twice at first, we usually end up beating the team by a significant amount,” Brunk said.

Brunk feels South Salem high school has been their greatest opponent so far this season. But they have maintained their winning streak and Brunk hopes to continue that streak.

“I’d say we need to work on consistency, we are not consistent every game.” Jonathan Ruiz Rivera, a sophomore said.
