The Rec on River road was packed full of McNary students wednesday night as they not only enjoyed bowling but also a stage performance by their peers.

The Audio Production and Technology program performed at The Rec Nov. 16 and will again the following friday. With free admission and only $10 bowling for McNary students.

Bands and solo performances showcased a variety of music genres. Along with music, the sound of students cheering each other on could also be heard all throughout the night.

Senior McNary student Jose Duran has been in the APT program for two years now. He performed wednesday night with his friends Oscar Gonzales 12th grade, and Gladimir Cruz 12th grade. They played Mexican Regional Music.

Duran enjoyed the good food at The Rec and the fun vibes. He really likes how positive everyone is in APT.

“Everyone’s support[tive] about any kind of music,” said Duran.

Sophomore Lucy Burroughs is the lead vocalist for their band, Astrea, who also played wednesday.

Playing at The Rec was a little less stressful for Burroughs, as it was more of a relaxed environment to perform in.

Burroughs has been in the APT program for two years and enjoys how well her band gets along with each other.

“It makes spending time together and working together really fun,” Burroughs said.

Burroughs enjoys the support she feels from the APT program.

“Made me a lot more confident in performing,” Burroughs said.
