Fans of high action fantasy, romance, and well-written plot twists would definitely love Sarah Maas’s series Throne of Glass.

Fans of the series are very excited for the upcoming covers, a lot of fans on Reddit saying that while the old covers are iconic they are a bit much. It screams ‘I’m reading a fantasy series about magic and faeries’.

These new covers released are simpler and give many spoilers just by the art on the cover. Fans have waited a long time for this news. Maas’s other series A Court of Thorns and Roses got cover remakes only five years after the initial release.

After eleven years Maas’s new book covers for her first published series Throne of Glass are being released on February 14, 2023.

This is also an amazing read for fans who love to connect with the characters of the book. Maas writes in a way that you get to know each of the characters' backstories, and everything about them. Maas doesn’t rely on the plot, she relies on her characters that she brought to life to lead the book.

That is why Maas is such an amazing writer not because of her flawlessly flawed characters or her immense worlds and story lines, but because of the details she includes in her writing. She uses something beautiful to portray pain.

Throne of Glass is about a young teen named Celanea Sardothien who used to be an assassin. She was summoned to the castle after being in a slave mine for a year, being brought forward to the prince. He asks her to be his champion and participate in a competition that will win her, her freedom. She has to defeat twenty-three killers and warriors, if she wins she will be released from the mines to become the King’s Champion. Although while she is competing, her competitors are dying mysteriously one by one and no one knows why.

The covers have been simplified to a background/setting compared to the old covers of Celaena in her assassins suit, and dresses on the back. All the covers are stunning and will be worth the money for all eight books.

The first book of the series Throne of Glass was released in August 2012, finishing the series with the eight book Kingdom of Ash in October 2018.

When Throne of Glass was first published Maas was only sixteen years old. Throne of Glass definitely has a more YA (young adult) feel to it because she was a young writer, but as she grew up and continued writing more books Kingdom of Ash ended up as a NA (new adult) book. Crescent City is contracted as her first adult fantasy series.
