Mikey Karvounis, who’s had a fascination with Rubik’s cubes since middle school, has puzzled together a club for likeminded enthusiasts.

The club meets in the College and Career Center once a week on Monday, Wednesday, or Friday at lunch. Friday, March 7 was the first-ever meeting of the Rubik’s Cube Club.

The club is for anyone who likes to solve Rubik's cubes or people that want to learn how. They’ll be teaching not only how to solve, but they will also have timers so once students learn they can practice and get faster.

“When I was younger I had a cube and my mom scrambled it up. At first I was upset having to learn to solve it on my own,” Karvounis said. “The more I learned the more cubes I bought.”

Karvounis currently has 40+ cubes in his collection and is excited to share his experience with others.

There are currently over 25 people signed up for the club.

The club is focusing on 4 main cubes to start: the 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, and the Pyraminx Cube.
