Those walking by room 240 may recognize a familiar face behind a cracked window, Mr. Robert Tavares.

This year McNary High School welcomes in multiple new teachers with Mr.Tavares being one of them. Tavares is taking the place of recently departed teacher Mr. Jim Litchfield in the same classroom and teaching some of the same classes. Those include US history as well as History of WWII.

‍

Tavares is also somewhat familiar with the school as he is a alumni, Graduating from McNary in 1998.

‍

He has taken a great liking to McNary: “loves the vibe," Tavares said.

‍

Mr. Tavares has an extensive history in teaching at multiple levels of education. “I began teaching in 2008 at Gervais Middle School as a science teacher,’" Tavares said.

‍

Since then, Tavares went to Claggett Creek Middle School which is where some may remember him from. “Its like they killed the younger versions and absorbed them,” Tavares said.

‍

From there he was then recruited by none other than Ms. Tavares to come to McNary and become a social studies teacher.

‍

There are many great aspects of McNary “seeing tons of friendly faces,” Tavares said was his favorite.
