Mortal Kombat 1 released September 14 of this year and shakes things up for the franchise in positive and negative ways.

There are some new additions in the game such as cameo fighters which add a second character that can help extend your combos and can help you if you're in a pinch.

One negative aspect to the game is some characters are locked to this system such as Jax, Goro and Sektor with some returning characters in the main roster.

The game play feels better than ever, with smoother feeling controls and less stiff feeling movement and simplifying the customization.

‍

So for this year's Mortal Kombat I give it 9/10. I recommend it to anybody who wants to 1v1 a friend or if you're looking for something new to play.
