Some may say McNary Girls Basketball is the definition of teamwork and sportsmanship.

“My team works really well together, we all aren’t super good so it's fun because we’re all kind of learning,” Josie Wampler said, a post on the Junior Varsity two (JV2) team.

“I have done basketball since I was in Kindergarten, I did Upward basketball … for seven years,” Wampler said.

She never planned on doing basketball this year, but her advisory teacher needed more people on her basketball team so Wampler tried out.

“It has been a very enjoyable experience, the practices are very fun”, Wampler said. “It is a very good place to make friends and be involved with your school.”

Jazmin Burrell is also on JV2, and her position on the team is a post as well. She thinks it’s a really good way to get new friends and to be socializing with different people.

“I joined basketball because I wanted to try something new, it's a really good sport to keep you going and on your feet,” Burrell said.

“The season is going good and super fun for an activity after school,” Burrell said.

Rowan Brunk may never touch a ball in a game but she definitely is apart of the team.

Brunk is a sophomore and  the student manager for the girls basketball teams, she assists coaches at practices and makes sure the girls are ready.

“I love being able to be a part of my school and help the girls on the basketball team” Brunk said.“It’s a great way to connect with people, very positive environment and the girls work well together.”

her favorite thing is being able to see her friends everyday and be there for them.

“I love being able to make new friends and watching the girls put their best into the sport,” She said.
