Starting at the beginning of February, students in Patrik Ackerman’s AP Psychology class are participating in the “Egg Baby Project”.

During this project, students scramble to keep 1 farm-fresh egg safe, healthy, and in eggcellent condition during the duration of the unit. This unit lasts approximately 10 days.

“This project is not meant to simulate parenting, but rather is intended to help the students understand development theories and help explain not only the baby's development but their thinking and development as well,” said Patrick Ackerman, the AP Psychology teacher.

Students bring their eggs to each class and try to take care of it the best they can. And most students have even named their eggs.

Elizabeth Woodward, a student in the AP Psych class, has named her “egg Baby” Eggwardo.

“I don't think Eggwardo will break because he's not very mischievous and I try my best to keep an eye on him,” said Woodward.
