The famous archer in the Avengers that's commonly known as Hawkeye, who just tried to have a nice comforting Christmas with his family since the blip. Yet he ran into a new protagonist that would make this one unforgettable Christmas. Hawkeye is one of Marvel's newest projects that came out on November 24 2021, with returning actor Jermey Renner reprising his role as Clint Barton and newcomer Hailee Steinfeld playing Kate Bishop. 

In episode one of Hawkeye “Never Meet Your Heroes'', was started off with the emotional back story about Kate Bishop. Who was stuck in the Battle of New York with the unfortunate loss of her father, but she gained a new hero that day, Hawkeye who saved her from dying.

Hawkeye has been trying to regain himself after the mistakes he made during the blip by pushing that past away. He goes to New York to spend a peaceful Christmas with his family, until he meets Kate Bishop and brings up the one that he tried to get away from, the Ronin. 

Kate is in a very wealthy family, who hosted a very fancy christmas party but little did they know the floors below them was an auction filled with many valuable items from the Avengers Tower including the Ronin suit. When Kate finds out the suit was being auctioned off she takes it and starts fighting the Tracksuit Mafia, which is where Clint and Kate finally meet.

This episode had very high ratings, which was unexpected since many people thought this show would fail because many had negative opinions on Hawkeye. Yet with the excellent acting shown from Jermey Renner and Hailee Steinfeld they swept everyone off their feet with a beginning of a new love for the characters.

In episode two of Hawkeye “Hide and Seek”, Kate Bishop and Clint Barton are on the run from the Tracksuit Mafia all throughout the episode. Since this the first time Kate has been in a big problem like this Clint has to take over by finding the Ronin suit once more so he can get rid of it existences. Yet the way he had to get it back was in a very odd way, he had to join a larping group which he was unexpectedly very good at. He had to strike up a deal with a fellow larper to give him the suit back by letting him win. 

In the end of the episode there was a shocking surprise by ending it with the new anti-hero, Echo, played by the talented Alaqua Cox. This episode had good ratings like the last, with its astonishing action scenes and crazy twists and turns it has turned into one of the best shows.

In episode three “Echoes”, we got a more insightful look on the new character Echo or Maya as she is also known. Maya is a character that shows new representation since she is deaf so now more people have a hero to look up too. We were brought throughout the story of her training behind her father and uncle who soon will be named in further episodes. With the tragic murder of her father by the Ronin, it has made her have the need to find who they are and kill them. 

They had gone through multiple fight sequences between Maya and Clint. One new thing we had learned about Clint Barton is that he as well has become hard of hearing, so he uses hearing aids to help him hear, yet in one of the fights Maya breaks the hearing aid. So Clint went through almost the entire episode of not hearing. This episode has gotten even better reviews than the last, some may even say it gets better each episode.

Episode four “Partners, Am I Right?” It was full of Christmas cheer. They celebrated the holidays knowing there was a chance Clint may not be there for his family on Christmas day. They discussed their plans on defeating Maya while singing to some holiday tunes. Yet, earlier in the episode they found themselves needing information so they head to Kate's mom's house, but they were caught before they could get the information. 

This ending was one of the craziest plot twists ever in a Marvel show. The famous Yelena Belova has made her appearance, with all the questioning by the fans if we were going to see her show up, we were not disappointed with the appearance. She shows up in the last five minutes of the episode coming to get revenge by killing Clint Barton, for her long missed sister Natasha Romanoff or commonly known as Black Widow. This episode was loved by many, especially me since I truly adore seeing Yelena come back on the big screen.

Episode five “Ronin” starts off with showing where Yelena has been all this time for us to find out she was blipped for those five years unknowing of what happened during that time. The pair of Clint and Kate have separated since Clint believes this is more serious of a matter then it should've been. Clint goes off to fight some members of the Tracksuit Mafia while Kate returns to her apartment to find a surprise.

As Kate gets home, she sees Yelena sitting at her dining table eating some Mac&Cheese. Yelena and Kate have a nice conversation over a nice meal, they discuss if Kate gets in the way of Yelena's mission she will have to kill her. She makes a dramatic exit out the window and that's all we see of her until the end of the episode.

Clint rounds up Tracksuit Mafia, needing to speak with Maya on why her had murdered her father. Clint gets multiple calls from Kate saying she has gotten new information and they finally meet back up. When they have met up Kate gets an unexpected message for Yelena saying Kate's mother works for the famous villain Kingpin. This episode was the best there was with an unexpected ending and seeing Yelena in a new light.

Season finale “So This is Christmas?” was full of action sequences that you did not want to miss. They all happened during a nice christmas party, Yelena and Kate fought throughout the whole party trying to keep her away from Clint but she loses sight of Yelena. Clint is more focused on the Mafia and how to take them down. 

Clint gets stuck on the ice while Yelena comes for him. He tries to fight her but he can't, he needs to tell her the truth about her sister and what happened to her. This brings to an emotional scene of Yelena breaking down about how much she loves and misses her sister. Yelena goes away without completing her mission but that does not leave Clint in the clear.

Maya defeats Kingpin until the next time, since it is not likely she killed him. Kate and Clint took down the Tracksuit Mafia and headed home for christmas. They spend a lovely Christmas at Clint's ranch with his family having a beautiful ending. The end credits were unexpected but very enjoyable. We got to see the rest of Rogers the Musical.

Hawkeye was an action filled and enjoyable show to watch during the holiday season. The expectancy for the show was not high but it ended up being one of the best shows Marvel has ever produced. This ended with an average of an 8.2/10 rating. This show was loved by many and finally being able to see Clint get his own show. If you haven't seen the show, watch it. There are many details not covered, and watching this will be important to future Marvel projects. It is worth the watch, you wont regret it.
