Knowing a teacher’s preferred pronoun may now be as simple as reading their name badge.

The Salem-Keizer School District Equity Office has made pronoun badges for all district teachers and employees. They became available to McNary staff on Friday, April 1. 

Badges include they/them, he/him, she/her, it, and the Spanish pronouns él and elle.

McNary office manager Mrs. Korrine Jackson said in an email, that the district may be working on badges for students and that everyone at McNary should stay tuned for more information.
