Alex Hernandez is a sophomore here at McNary High School and one of the resident artists. Hernandez’s drawing medium goes from drawing with pencils, and or charcoal. He also considers himself a hobby artist.
Hernandez is inspired by the popular artist Andy Warhol. In studying other artists he focused on the renaissance artists, and Andy Warhol.
“Some of my art has a message, but most is just for fun,” Hernandez said. He said he needs to work on improving his human figures.
While he wants to learn to pilot rescue helicopters after high school, he will continue his art afterwards as well. While he hasn’t sold any art, he has given some away to friends.
“When people see my art I want them to feel amazed,” said Hernandez. He will show his family and friends his art, during his drawing process.
Hernandez’s drawing process consists of background first, then foreground along with anything else, other times painting, or shading with charcoal in other places.
His friends and family support his art through and through. His plans for college are to get his masters and socials degree.
