Next Monday, November 20, Mrs. Farris is offering a College and Scholarship Workday during the first day of conferences. The College and Career Center will be open 9AM – 1PM! Students are encouraged to come and work on College and Scholarship Applications, receive helpful tips on how to write scholarship essays that gets noticed, finish Financial Aid and Oregon Promise Applications or just get your college planning questions answered.

SENIORS! Who has made a positive influence in your life during your years at McNary? Nominate one of your fellow McNary Graduates for The Terri Oldham $500 scholarship! If your nomination is chosen you will also receive $50! Think of those who assisted you with school work, were valuable help while participating in sports, drama, band, a club or other extracurricular activities. Maybe they have been instrumental in discouraging others from participating in unhealthy behaviors or have made a difference in the lives of their peers. A New scholarship is available in the College and Career Center. The Scott Miller Memorial Scholarship offers a $1000 and $500 Award for graduating high school seniors who has a family member who is a voting or supporting member of the Marion County Farm Bureau.
Deadline for this scholarship is June 1st. Please come see Mrs. Farris to pick up an application or for more information in the College and Career Center.
Juniors! Come to the “College and Scholarship Organization” Seminar – Wednesday, May 10 after school at 2:30 – 3:30 PM in the College and Career Center. This is a great way for you to prepare and get ready for your senior year! Mrs. Farris has great information and will give you great organization strategies, hints on how to request recommendation letters, organizing your college and scholarship applications and essays while keeping track of your personal information as you manage Financial Aid and other username and password information. Being organized your Senior year is the key!
