The Salem Keizer Public Schools have decided in the school year 2019-20 to create a equity committee. This committee is so that students through 9th-12th grade feel welcome and in a safe environment no matter the circumstance that the student is in. The purpose of this committee is to make a model district environment that is safe for all students, staff and administrators. The district also hoped that this committee can be a safe place to engage and discuss the ongoing diverse community on school campus. Lastly, the district wants to figure out what is going on to try to respond to the bias and harassment that student have noticed going on during and after school hours.
