Seniors, Here's a Job Opportunity!

Seniors! The State of Oregon is piloting a program that will TRAIN and pay students as they earn their Building Code Inspector Certification. This program is a 10 month program that begins in September and will conclude June 2018. Upon completion, students are guaranteed a career as a Building Code Inspector and will begin making between $40-50,000 per year. The State of Oregon Building Codes Division is piloting a 1 year training program where participants chosen get to attend a 10 month course where they are paid to learn and become certified as a residential structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing inspectors. During this 10 month training $12/hour + benefits. Once they complete the training students are guaranteed a job earning anywhere from $19-$32/hour!
Students with any type of classroom experience in CAD, engineering, construction, cabinet making or manufacturing classes would be ideal candidates for this opportunity. Also, students who may have experiences working in construction family businesses would work as well. If students are interested in this opportunity they MUST sign up in the College and Career Center to attend the State of Oregon Building Codes Division meeting at CTEC on June 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Visit the College and Career Center right away because Mrs. Farris will be sending the list of interested students in on Thursday, June 8. To attend the information session students must be on the list.
