Pitbulls look for new home

Driving home after visiting her grandparents home in the country, McNary student, Alexia Bell, came across an unknown stranger forcefully pushing two Pitbull Mixes out of his truck. Soon after, he sped off, abandoning them. Alexia says they had ropes tied around their neck and her mother, Carla Bell, says “He was evidently using them for breeding.”
After finding these abandoned Pitbulls, Alexia took them home and noticed how malnourished they looked. She and her mother tended to both their minor injuries and have continued to feed them. Carla Bell says they are super playful, sweet, gentle and loving; and have even been sleeping next to Alexia. “They’re pretty much housebroken and non-destructive. If we didn’t have two other rescued boys of our own, we’d keep them in less than a heartbeat,” she says.
With help from Marsha at the non-profit Hope’s Haven Shelter, Bell is working on going through the process of putting the dogs up for fostering and adoption. “Alexia had taken the puppers straight to the vet after loading them into her car, and they are neither chipped nor neutered, but other than being malnourished, which we are working on that, they seem to be otherwise healthy and BURSTING with love and enthusiasm and joy,” Bell says.
Hope’s Haven Shelter will have both dogs neutered and microchipped.
These Pitbulls have endured a lot together and are super bonded. This means they will need to remain together to any loving family who is willing to take them in. The Bell family is unable to take in more pets and needs to find a new home for these Pits. After having the dogs for about a week now, Bell has run out of options and has to surrender the dogs to the humane society. The dogs will be at the Humane Society on May 24th, by 3:30.
There is a possibility that Bell and her family will keep the bigger dog of the two, but the other one is still up for adoption. If anyone is interested in two Pitbull Mixes, please contact Carla Bell at her email: BELL_CARLA@salkeiz.k12.or.us.
