McNary’s fall band concert was a chance to hear the many different bands and music genres students are learning to perform in the McNary music program.
The fall band concert was at 7:00 pm, on Tuesday, November 13, at McNary.
The Jazz Band played ‘Walkin’ shoes’ by Gerry Mulligan and ‘Cubano Chant’ by Ray Bryant and arr. Mossman. The Percussion Ensemble played ‘Aboriginal Dreams’, ‘Ritual’, and ‘Rain’ by Roland Barrett. The Concert band played ‘Reflections’ by James Swearingen and ‘Lament and Tribal Dances’ by Michael Sweeney
The Symphonic Band played ‘Primal Winds’ by Gary Fagan, ‘Whispers From Beyond’ by Rossano Galante, and ‘Mayflower Overture’ by Ron Nelson. The Wind Ensemble played ‘New Century Dawn’ by David Gillingham, ‘Mountain Thyme’ by Samuel Hazo, ‘Prelude, Siciliano and Rondo’, by Malcom Arnold and John Paynter, and ‘King Cotton’ by John Philip Sousa.
The Fall Band Concert was a huge success and we appreciate the bands that played.
