On Jan. 30 the McNary girls basketball team won with a score of 40 to 27 against Sprague.
Kya Witherspoon, one of the girls on the McNary basketball team said, “My favorite moment? Was probably watching my friends and teammates do their best, try their best, and work their hardest to get that win.”
The team played hard and was able to strengthen one another in getting along and their teamwork.
“I think it’s [Basketball] taught me that teamwork is everything and being able to work together and play together as a team is so incredibly important. Like if you don’t have like teamwork, you don’t have anything at all.” said Witherspoon.
For the girls, teamwork was a huge factor to why they were able to secure the win against Sprague. When they struggled to keep up the work and teamwork, the team as a whole struggled with executing plays and defense.
During the game the girls lost some confidence causing their performance to hurt, but as they got more comfortable with one another, the stronger they became in taking over the game.
