Special message from coach Auvinen – “Have fun!”
The McNary boys varsity football program is trying to instill toughness- physical, mental, and emotional – in our athletes.
The varsity football staff consists of the head coach Jeff Auvinen who is also the defensive coordinator, and his offensive coordinator Brad Emmert, offensive line coach Brad Lomax, receivers coaches Frank Gauntz, Keith McCallister, and George Carter, defensive line coaches Anthony Marin and Ted Anagnos, defensive back coaches Kyley McCrae, Brent Gilmour, and Nick Phillips, running backs coach Sam Wilkerson, running backs/linebackers coach Jason Ebbs, and linebackers coach Brian Aicher. Auvinen, when asked about his goals for the team said, “We want to get better each and every day. We want to be the best student-football players that we can be. ‘Let’s go!’ sums up what we want our attitude to be.” Last year the varsity team finished with a record of 4 wins and 6 loses. The team captains this year were Trent Van Cleave, Tanner Gordon, Kyle Aicher, and Hayden Sader.
