Competing in math has become something many of the high schools in the state do with each other. This year McNary competed with Blanchet, Central, Chemawa, Dallas, Early College, McKay, North, Salem Academy, Silverton, South, Sprague, West, and Regis.
Math regional have three competitions: the qualifying exams, -25 Minus Game, Team Relay, and additionally they have a team for Algebra One all the way up to Calculus. The teams are made up of two people from each school.
“Geometry placed third, and Harrison Vaughn placed second in the qualifying exam,” said Ms. Nadia Bushey the teacher leader for our school.
The winners were Palmer Snapp, Lucy Taylor, and Harrison Vaughn. These students will go to state and compete again.
